If premiums went up in the following two years, the district would pay 85 percent and the teachers would pay 15 percent. The teachers had agreed to a plan where the district would pay 90 percent of the premiums if they paid 10 percent. He said he didn’t wish to make any further comment about contract passage. “(The school board) felt the contract was negotiated in good faith and it passed,” Jama said. It was originally rejected because OAPSE asked for health care benefits that were different from the teachers’ unions. Superintendent Tom Jama said the board accepted the three-year Ohio Association of Public School Employees contract and no changes were made from what was presented the week before.
